Tour in Tianjin
- Tianjin (Ferry to the Imperial Capital) is a municipality directly under
the central government. It is near Beijing and 70 km from the Bohai Sea.
It is one of China's biggest industrial centers and the largest
commercial seaport in North China.
- Tianjin saw a lot of astonishing changes and sufferings in China's
modern history. In 1860, the Treaty of Peking opened Tianjin to foreign
trade. Tianjin was then controlled by 9 countries. Today, the city
still has many old European-style buildings. From 1925 to 1931, the
last emperor, Pu Yi, lived here.
- Tianjin's Food Street provides tasty local flavors, such as sweat meat,
the Zhang's Peanut, crisp fried doughnut and lovely steamed bread with
fillings. Its Ancient Culture Street has a large variety of handicrafts
and antiques.
