STORAGE RING DIVISION

The Storage Ring Division of IHEP was set up in 1982. Now it has about 90 staff, including 7 Professors, 27 Associate Professors and Senior Engineers, 27 Assistant Professors and Engineers. and has 6 specialized groups, namely, Accelerator Physics, Magnet, Power Supply, Radio Frequency, Vacuum and Machinery. There are Magnet Measurement, RF, Power and Injection Equipments, as well as Vacuum laboratories in the Division. From 1982 to 1988 the Storage Ring Division successfully completed the design and construction of the BEPC storage ring and the beam transport lines from LINAC to the ring. Since then the Division has been being in charge of its commissioning, operation and maintenance. In 1992, some parts of the BEPC luminosity upgrades program were started in the Storage Ring Division, a significant gain in BEPC luminosity is expected in 1996. The Division keeps close cooperative research relation with many world famous laboratories such as SLAC, CERN, KEK, BNL, exchanging visiting scholars, taking part the design and construction of accelerator components in the projects abroad. Now the Storage Ring Division is making its efforts to contribute to the development of the accelerators in the world.
